Buying a coffee machine used to be a fairly easy thing to do. You didn't have a lot of choices and you didn't have to worry about you wanted it to do. However, you have a lot of choices when it comes to coffee machines these days. You need to consider what features you want to best meet your coffee needs.
How much coffee do you need?Walking down the small appliance aisle at the store may leave you feeling just a tad overwhelmed with all of the coffee machine choices. However, the best place to start is to decide how much coffee you want to make at a time. Your choices are significantly larger than they once were and you can choose a coffee machine that will make 1 cup of coffee if you want. Other options include a coffee machine that will brew 2, 4, 10, or 12 cups at one time.
How much control do you want your coffee machine to have? You may be one who enjoys getting up in the morning and having a morning routine that includes opening the can of coffee, measuring it out, and enjoying the smell as it brews. But if this routine isn't what you had in mind for a great morning then you may want to consider giving your coffee machine more control. Many coffee machines come with digital settings that allow you to set a time for your machine to brew your coffee. You set it the night before and it brews in the morning. You can even get one that will turn off after awhile to make sure that you never forget and leave the pot of coffee on all day or all night again.
How easy do you want clean up to be?Modern times have brought about a few different options. You can go with a reusable filter which will improve the taste of your coffee, is cheaper than using paper, and will also save on the environment. However, this filter will require cleaning and it isn't as easy as dumping the paper filter in the trash. You can use paper filters and have a little less cleanup or you can use pods. Coffee pods make both preparation and clean up a breeze, but you have to make sure that you purchase one of the coffee machines that take them.
Can you wait for your coffee?Another important feature for many is the pause n' serve option. This is a small stopper that stops brewed coffee from dripping into the pot while you quickly fill or refill your coffee cup. When you put the pot back coffee continues to drip as normal and you don't have as much mess as you would should you try to get a cup of coffee before it is done without this option. If you can wait for your coffee then you may not be interested in this feature, but if you are one who makes a mess trying to get that beautiful liquid before it done then this is likely a must have feature.
Modern coffee machines come in a wide variety of sizes, styles, and features so that you can get exactly what you need. To find the best machine for you, simply figure out what it is you want or need in your coffee making experience and then go out there and find the perfect machine. There is something for everyone!
